Subhuman Schizo Sonnet by M.J. Hudson

O feeling like a nigger denied the vote,
the brain behind my radical commotion

being coercively treated by the state,
I, torn out to where some schizos drown,

hoped the shrinks would see me afloat
on their vow to fairly patrol the ocean

and at last work to wholly exonerate
a benumbed poet of genius in town,

but no, such dreams gut us poor fools
like a delusion sharpened on a wheel,

we ‘you cannot trust to obey the rules’
however often the exhausting ordeal

of being drugged to stop crimes forecast
buries people deep in a cold blue past.
